English Victorian Mantel Lustres in Period Domes
A pair of 19th century English Victorian Period mantel lustres in period domes. Deep Emerald Green glass with scalloped tops and baluster bases, original Gilded detail with enameled floral decoration and two rows of cut glass prisms. Lusters were placed on the parlor mantlepiece in Victorian homes and were used to hold tapers, which were long waxed wicks used especially for lighting candles, lamps, pipes, or fires around the home. This pair is in remarkable condition with the original glass domes and wooden bases, some flakes to prisms. Each 14″ high, 20″ high overall including dome and base.
